Snake-based puzzle game requiring strategic fruit-wrapping mechanics, designed and delivered 50 levels in 2 days during 4-day game jam while collaborating with 4-person team and adapting to evolving core mechanics.

History

My friends had been jumping into different game jams and asked if I wanted to join as a game designer. They already had art, programming, and music covered. As a gameplay engineer, I'd always been curious about the designer side I collaborate with at work, so this felt like the perfect low-risk way to try it. The jam ran from Thursday to Sunday, which made it easy to participate without impacting my full-time job. I even promised them I'd design 50 levels and followed through.
The theme for GMTK 2025 was "Loop". Any games that associate with the word "loop" are okay.

Concise Rules

  1. Move the snake to wrap around all 4 sides of all fruits on the level to proceed to next.
    • WASD or arrowkeys = move head of snake
    • N = skip to next level (only if you're really stumped!)
    • B = go to previous level
    • R = reset current level
    • ESC = return to main menu (audio settings, level select are all here)
    • Press "Z" for jump. How long you press the key will determine how high you will jump.
  2. Complete all 50 rounds to finish the game!
